Ochre Recruitment
Company History
(Ochre Recruitment formerly known as Australian Outback Locums)
Ochre Recruitment is a locum and permanent placement agency for Doctors and Allied Health Professionals that was formed in early 2002 by Dr Ross Lamplugh and Dr Hamish Meldrum. The company originated in Bourke NSW as Australian Outback Locums (AOL).
In 2003 the then AOL moved its offices from Bourke to Hobart, Tasmania and has grown from a one person operation to a team of five in 2006. Our office is located on Level 4, 18 Elizabeth Street (near corner of Macquarie Street), Hobart 7000.
Ochre Recruitment is focused on the recruitment of Doctors and Allied Health Professionals. The owners and Directors of Ochre Recruitment understand what it means to work as locums in a large hospital in Sydney and to do emergency Anaesthetics or Obstetrics in remote Australia as they have worked as procedural doctors in remote, regional and metropolitan settings.
Our Recruitment Consultants, as part of their induction travel to hospitals and to remote Australian Medical Practices so that they can understand what it means to be a doctor and work in both urban and remote locations. Over the last four years Ochre Recruitment has grown from a rural GP placement company in northwest NSW to one that places Doctors and Allied Health Professionals all over Australia and New Zealand.
In June 2006 AOL changed its name to Ochre Recruitment. Ochre is a yellow to red pigment that is reflective of Australia's natural environment. "OCHRE" is also an acronym that stands for Outback Coastal Health and REcruitment.
