Boggabri is a small and tranquil country town of about 1000 people 477 km north west of Sydney and the nearest major town being Tamworth which is 115 km's away. The town services the surrounding area which produces wheat, wool and cotton. There is a motel with a swimming pool, two pubs and a caravan park in the town. Boggabri has two local primary schools and a TAFE campus is 30 minutes from Boggabri, at Gunnedah.

The new Multi Purpose Service facility has recently been completed and they are looking for a GP/VMO (would also suit a husband and wife team). This facility consists of 7 High care beds and 9 Low care beds, 3 Acute care beds and 1 Palliative care room. Accident and Emergency and Ambulance services are on site. Ochre Health manages the two doctor surgery with is located in the hospital.

DWS position available, RRMA 5, and very light on call. Must be able to obtain General Registration and would also suit an UK, IRE, CAN or NZ follow qualified doctor.

Role:

Provide General Practice and Visiting Medical Officer services, consistent with the credentialing and Service and Liability contract with the Hunter New England Area Health Service, to the town of Boggabri and surrounds.

The doctor will be on-call regarding after-hours hospital work, and may be required to do public health related activities.

 Hours of work

• Nine (9) GP sessions of 3.5 hours per week (0900 – 1230 and 1400 – 1730)
• The afternoon session to be taken off
• One in two on call for Boggabri MPS (Hospital)
• Rostered weekly time off to attend education in Narrabri and Gunnedah (5 hours paid)
• Rostered time off of 5 hours a week (5 hours unpaid)
• Three day weekend every 4 weeks (up to 72 hours paid)
• Further regular unpaid rostered time can be negotiated
