Over the past ten years, Ochre Recruitment has developed a network of strong relationships with clinics and hospitals throughout Australia and New Zealand. Through this network we are able to offer obstetrics and gynaecology jobs across all levels from registrar to senior consultant, in a wide range of available locations.
Specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia undergo six years of post-graduate, hospital-based training and assessment.
The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the professional body representing obstetricians, gynaecologists and women’s health practitioners in Australia.
The assessment process enables Specialist IMGs (SIMGs) to have their qualifications assessed for comparability to an Australian trained specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Overseas Specialists with Full UK Qualifications may be found to be fully comparable in some instances however those trained in Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa are usually found to be substantially comparable. The outcome of the assessment will detail the requirements for oversight, supervision and further training (minimum 6-12 months of oversight).
The College may award Fellowship (FRANZCOG) following satisfactory completion of further training or supervision as determined by the assessment process.
OTS from India, China or Malaysia will usually be considered partially comparable and more training and supervision will be required. The doctor’s qualifications and experience will be assessed on a case by case basis by the college.
