FT GP needed for Aboriginal Community 7hrs West of Coffs Harbour, NSW

The Position:
Suited to a dynamic GP with an interest, knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal people and their culture. Ideally you will have extensive experience in General Practice and a commitment to primary health care providing competent, patient-centred care for the management of acute and chronic conditions. You will be part of a multi- disciplinary team focused on improving the health and welfare of Aboriginal people, working with Aboriginal Health workers, allied health and visiting specialists. Interest in Public Health is an advantage

The Practice:
The AMS is a non-profit organisation which relies on public support from individuals, community groups, corporations, trusts and foundations as well as government funding to continue to improve the health and well-being of clients and their community. Opened 1986 the Board of Directors moved a resolution to treat ALL people. 40% of clients are non-Aboriginal. The first Aboriginal Medical Service in NSW to be accredited (1998) with the (national) Quality Improvement Council (QIC) / (state) Quality Management Service (QMS) for organisational operations. Accredited for its General Practice facilities with General Practice Accreditation (GPA). Also, underwent fifth cycle of accreditation with both agencies & one of the first Aboriginal Medical Services in New South Wales to achieve Dental Practice Accreditation through the Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) group.

Essential Criteria:
* General or Specialist registration with AHPRA
* Unrestricted Vocational registration with Medicare

Service Overview:
Some of the services include health assessments, pregnancy tests, ECGS, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar levels (BSL's), chronic disease management, wound dressings, Asthma, Diabetes and skin checks.
