Medical Officer
Australian Doctors International (ADI) is looking for volunteer Medical Officers to work in PNG for a 4 to 6 month period. Current vacancies exist in both Western Province and New Ireland.
You will receive a monthly living allowance, food allowance, shared accommodation, airfares and other travel expenses. Travel insurance and vaccinations will also be provided.
The Position

The Medical Officer, Integrated Health Patrols, works as part of a 10-person team providing clinical and preventative healthcare services across 26 health centres in New Ireland Province.
Each Rural Health Patrol lasts up to two weeks and is conducted by boat and four-wheel drive, staying in local villages and guest houses.
Whilst not on patrol, the Volunteer Medical Officer is responsible for providing clinical support, education and training.

Whilst not on patrol, the Volunteer Medical Officer is responsible for providing clinical examinations, support, education and training at the Daru-Kiunga Diocese headquarters at the Montfort Catholic Mission in Kiunga and at the Kiunga general Hospital when invited.
You'll also enjoy some tropical, rugged adventures travelling to remote health facilities, and meet many extraordinary people who'll surprise you with their inspiring stories.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum four (4) years post-graduate experience, including primary health care experience
* Minimum MBBS (Australia) or equivalent from New Zealand, PNG, UK, Ireland, Canada or Singapore
* Current medical registration in Australia, New Zealand, or Papua New Guinea
Preferred Criteria
* Current resident of Australia
* Experience providing medical services in remote and rural areas
* Experience in clinical teaching and/or mentoring
